StockPing — Privacy Policy

1. What the app stores

StockPing saves the following in your device's local storage (localStorage), on your device only:

• The products you track: link, name, last known stock status and price, and when each was last checked
• Your alert history (the most recent 200 stock and price changes)
• Settings: auto-check, check interval, and notifications on or off

We cannot see this data and cannot recover it for you. You can erase all of it with Settings → Clear all data, or by uninstalling the app or clearing this site's data. Export saves a file to wherever you choose; it is not sent anywhere.

2. What the app does not collect

• No name, email, phone number, or account of any kind
• No location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers
• No shopping-site logins, passwords, or payment details. The app reads public product pages only
• No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies

3. How product checks work: third-party proxies

Browsers do not let a web app read another website's page directly. To check stock and price, StockPing sends the product link to a public proxy, which fetches the page and returns it: first api.allorigins.win, then corsproxy.io if the first fails. These services are not operated by us. They receive the product link and your IP address, and may log them under their own terms. They do not receive your name, your other tracked products, or anything else stored in the app. Before a link is checked or saved, StockPing removes common tracking parameters from it, such as utm_ tags and referral codes.

We plan to replace these public proxies with a checking service of our own. This page will be updated when that happens.

4. Other network requests

• Shopping sites. When you tap a product or "Buy now", your browser opens the retailer's site directly (for example Amazon or Flipkart). That visit is covered by the retailer's privacy policy.
• Fonts. The app loads its typeface from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which receives your IP address and browser details.
• Hosting. Like any website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard server logs such as IP address and time.

5. Affiliate links

When affiliate links are enabled in this version of the app (Settings then shows a Disclosure section), links you open to Amazon or Flipkart carry our affiliate ID, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, StockPing earns from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links never change stock results, the prices shown, or when you are alerted.

6. Notifications

Alerts are created on your device when a check finds a change, and are shown by your device. No push service or server is involved, and nothing about your alerts is sent anywhere.

7. Accuracy

StockPing is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any retailer. Stock status and prices are read from public pages and can be wrong or out of date. Always confirm on the retailer's site before you buy.

8. Children

StockPing is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
